Roger Moore
Roger is a director and co-founder of SSLI and is jointly responsible for the commercial development and strategy of the company. He is an experienced senior executive with a broad commercial background and sits on the board of several public and private companies. Roger has held a variety of industry positions over the past ten years. Prior to founding SSLI, he was Chief Executive of a £30 million private motor retail group. He has also served as Vice President of Finance, Europe at Wesley Clover Corporation where he was part of an executive team responsible for managing a variety of mature technology and real estate investments (including the Celtic Manor Resort and a venture capital fund specialising in technology start up companies. He was previously Chief Financial Officer at Ubiquity Software Corporation, during which time he played a key role in securing £28 million of private equity from a syndicate of financial and corporate institutions. Prior to this Roger spent eight years with Deloitte & Touche LLP working within various functions of the firm including assurance and advisory, forensic accounting, corporate recovery and latterly as a manager in corporate finance.
Shaun Oxenham
Shaun is a director and co-founder of SSLI and has 20 years experience of creating and managing successful business ventures in fast paced and leading edge environments. Shaun is jointly responsible for the commercial development and strategy of the company. Shaun is an experienced senior executive with a broad commercial and technology background of venture capital funded companies. Prior to SSLI, Shaun was the founding CEO of Enfis Group Plc, a high brightness LED light engine designer and manufacturer. Shaun took Enfis through several rounds of funding culminating in leading Enfis onto the London Stock Exchange in 2007. After seven years with Enfis, Shaun stepped down as CEO to join SSLI in August 2009. Prior to Enfis, Shaun was MD (Europe) of Ubiquity Software Corp where he led the European Team to a leading position in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) products for next generation telecom networks. Together, with his fellow directors, secured £28m funding for Ubiquity and multi-million dollar contracts with organizations such as Qwest , Telia, Nokia, Ericsson and Alcatel. Ubiquity was later acquired by Avaya Corp. Prior to Ubiquity, Shaun was the Operations Director of Relay and was part of a management team that bought the company in ' 96. Relay developed advanced software and hardware solutions using Java software. The purchase was backed by 3i. Relay was turned into a profitable venture achieving sales of £12m and in ' 98 achieved a profitable trade sale to a US Software Corp. Prior to Relay, Shaun was the consultancy business unit manager at Syntech Computer Systems. Shaun joined Syntech from his start up software consultancy he formed with his fellow students whilst studying computer science. Shaun has been an advisor on internet technologies to the IoD and has been a full member since ‘97.
Ross Blakeway
Ross is a Director of Solid State Lighting International (Pty) Ltd, SSLI's South African operation. Ross has proven his pedigree as an entrepreneur in the retail , 3rd party warehousing & logistics, food processing (HACCP) and fishing industries and has been involved in the successful set up of green field projects in all of these industries, as well as, as venture financing, commercial property and business broking and as a management consultant specialising in strategic business development, change management, activity based costing including streamlining operational efficiencies. Ross has a passion for understanding and nurturing people and their needs within a business environment to maximise the desired outcome. Ross's flair is in exceeding client's expectations of services delivery. Business is in his blood and he takes great care in analyzing all options to ensure that the outcome will result in a "win - win". Ross has obtained an undergraduate commerce degree from the University of Cape Town-South Africa (1991). He went onto complete a MBA from the University of Bond -Australia (2002), where he finished top of his class. Ross was born and bred in Southern Africa and has a passion for its people, their diversities and the natural beauty of the continent. He enjoys the outdoors lifestyle and the opportunities that travel affords him.
