SSLI Lights The Way – All 10 Kilometres in South Africa
Solid State Lighting International Pty (SSLI) has been awarded an initial contract to supply 10 kilometres of architectural lighting to the hotel and hospitality sector. The project was awarded based on SSLI’s ability to source products to the client’s demanding specification, demonstrate the technology in a robust environment and prove the business case for the replacement of a legacy lighting system.
SSLI proposed a solution consisting of 125,000 high performance LEDs manufactured to robust quality standards in the UK. The solution is supplied to the customer in South Africa through SSLI Ltd Pty based in Cape Town. The solution was tested against other products from vendors around the world and was chosen because of its superior performance, warranty and serviceability.
SSLI Pty was formed by Roger Moore, Shaun Oxenham and Ross Blakeway with the mission to source, specify, financially profile and supply world class LED lighting solutions to meet to the exacting requirements of customers in EU and South Africa. SSLI is privately held.
Ross Blakeway said “We are delighted to have been chosen to be involved from inception to delivery of this project for such a high profile client. This represents a very significant deployment of architectural LED lighting products by any measure in this market sector. We are thrilled to have been able to respond so positively and to prove the superiority of the solution to our customer in South Africa and we look forward to the unveiling of this first phase project later in 2011.”
